Paint a vibrant tropical flamingo standing in calm blue water with a soft sunset sky behind it. This beginner-friendly class focuses on simple shapes, bold colours and relaxed brush techniques—perfect for a fun night out while creating a bright tropical artwork to take home.
Discover the magic of indigo and shibori. Learn different ways to create different patterns on your fabric. We will stitch, bind and wrap our fabrics to produce many effects. Everything is provided for a successful day of dyeing. You will have access to shibori tools and the indigo vat. A materials pack is included: linen tea towel, cotton fabric, silk scarf. What to bring: Have you got clothing or fabric that needs a refreshing dash of blue? PJs, apron, t-shirt, fabric from your stash, whatever, as long as it's a natural fibre. (cotton, silk, wool or linen work best) Make sure you wear old clothes and shoes you wouldn't mind blue or wear an apron. BYO lunch. Tea and coffee facilities provided. Fridge & microwave available. Minimum of 4 students, the class will be cancelled 48 hours prior if the minimum is not met.
Join Louise for a lesson on botanical drawing, discovering the intricacies of drawing what you see. Learn how to add tone and hints of colour to your drawing using simple art materials. Louise has a relaxed teaching style and will demonstrate some easy drawing techniques for you to try. We will be working with graphite and coloured pencils on drawing paper, all of which will be supplied. You can also bring your own pencils if you wish. A selection of natural materials will be available for inspiration on the day.
