Guests will paint a still life image guided by local artist Tanya Burkitt. Tanya completed an art major as part of her teaching degree and mainly works in acrylic. Her paintings are vivid and colourful, and inspired by a long-held love from a gardening family. One of Tanya’s recent works is currently part of the Royal Queensland Art Society’s “Wild Things” exhibition. Tanya's work has also been exhibited in the Brisbane Rotary Art Show. Tickets $55.00pp and raffle tickets are $5.00 each or 3 for $10.00. Donations of any amount are welcome to support the costs associated with running the conference in light. All proceeds will benefit the operational costs of the D9620 Interact Conference 2026. By supporting this event, you will help bring young Interactors from across Queensland together for a day of inspiration and development! Tea and light refreshments will be served. Join artist Dhana Merritt in this gentle participatory workshop during Slow Art Day. Guided by artist and naturopath Dhana Merritt, this workshop blends unhurried practices of gentle observation with the preparation and tasting of herbal teas. You are invited to linger with the colours and textures of work in our current exhibitions. Then, slow right down and reflect on subtle shifts within as you sip warming herbs and spices that support a conscious transition from autumn into winter. Slow looking can be a form of nourishment, just as herbal teas bring comfort and joy. This workshop celebrates rest and contemplation as a form of care. Participants will be invited to blend a small personal tea sachet to take home. Slow Art Day is a global event each year, celebrating different ways of engaging with and looking slowly at art.
