Brushstrokes for Dementia is a fundraising art auction supporting Dementia Australia. Created by Emily Gelsthorpe, the auction is deeply personal and has grown from her family’s experience supporting their dad through dementia. After navigating a difficult and often overwhelming health and aged care journey, Dementia Australia provided the understanding, guidance and reassurance they so desperately needed. Through the sale of these artworks, Emily hopes to give back to an organisation that has had an immeasurable impact on her family, while helping other people living with dementia, and the families beside them, access vital support. Additional works kindly donated by local artists Danielle Raphaël and Yaz Gaté née del Mar. All proceeds from the auction will go to Dementia Australia via Emily’s fundraising campaign.
