This 2.5 hour workshop is a gentle, hands on introduction to weaving, designed for adults and children to experience together. Suitable for children aged 5 to 17, with an accompanying adult. No experience is needed, just curiosity and a willingness to play with colour and texture. Together, you will learn the foundations of weaving on a simple loom. We will explore how yarns can be layered, wrapped, and knotted to create soft, tactile compositions that feel both expressive and calming. You will be guided through a series of simple techniques, allowing space for experimentation and small moments of discovery. These woven pieces become a quiet record of time spent together, something to hang in your home long after the day has passed. Each participant will create their own small woven wall hanging to take home at the end of the session. All materials are provided, including a loom, fibres, and tools. You will also be given guidance on how to continue weaving at home if you wish. Please wear comfortable clothing and be ready to slow down, settle in, and enjoy the process.
Celebrate World Migratory Bird Day by designing and cutting your own local bird sticker with the Cricut Maker. Learn the basics on how to use the Cricut Maker 3, then draw, trace, or choose a pre-made design to create a bird-themed removable window sticker, permanent sticker for your laptop, water bottle etc or an iron-on patch for a tee or tote. We’ll provide all the materials, simply bring your item to customize or you can take your sticker home to apply later. Children under 12 will be expected to attend with a guardian.
