Over the weekend, you can master the fundamentals of healthy and easy Japanese Cooking in a hands-on and fun workshop whilst gaining practical skills and knowledge. Follow detailed demonstrations by celebrated chef Yoshiko Takeuchi, who has had over twenty years of experience and has frequented some of Sydney's top kitchens, authored two cookbooks and worked on shows like The Biggest Loser. You will follow traditional methods replicable at home, including essential Japanese seasonings, cooking techniques and a variety of yummy recipes.
Taught by Chef Yoshiko Takeuchi, 20 years of experience in teaching, author of 'Cooking with Soy', 'Cooking with Japanese super foods' and renowned for cooking in some of Sydney’s top kitchens and work on The Biggest Loser. Learn through detailed demonstration from the teacher PLUS hands-on practice. No washing required, unlike most cooking classes - all you do is learn, cook, eat and have fun! Enjoy freshly made healthy Japanese foods that are easy to replicate at home! Learn and try Japanese superfoods - the secrets of Japanese health, longevity and immune boosting that you don’t know much about! It is plant-based (Cholesterol free). In this class you will get to experience hands on, the art of jam making guided by Alex Elliot-Howery from Cornersmith. Preserving does not have to be difficult or take all weekend. In fact, it can be as easy as turning two tired eggplants into a jar of relish chutney, a few cucumbers into a jar of pickles or the last two lemons in the fruit bowl into homemade preserved lemons. In this class you will be introduced to the craft of jam making, including jam, mulled pears and salt marmalade. Alex uses adaptable recipes so you can interchange what you have, what you grow, or what needs using up in the fruit bowl and fridge. Come, enjoy, and learn all the tricks about jam making!
