Find the best history events and make the most of your time tomorrow in Sydney. From music to pets and more, we have the biggest event range and best discovery experience, there's something for everyone.
Join Dr Ian Hoskins to celebrate Heritage Festival with a walking tour of Kirribilli's 1920s-40s apartment blocks. North Sydney has many fine examples of flats built from the 1920s to the 1940s, and those at Kirribilli are particularly interesting. Discover the charm of these buildings, called ‘walk-ups’, that reflect two main architectural styles of Interwar Georgian and Art Deco/Functionalism.

Join us for a day of history and discovery at Woronora Memorial Park and Crematorium. This special community event invites visitors to experience the people, places and architecture that have shaped our grounds for more than a century. Throughout the day, Metropolitan Memorial Parks will bring the past to life through guided tours, behind-the-scenes experiences and conversations that offer a rare insight into memorial traditions and local history of Woronora Memorial Park and Crematorium. Whether you love history, heritage, community stories or simply discovering something new, this is a day to explore, reflect and connect.

Take a guided tour and learn the fascinating history of this ex industrial and now state of the art Centre for Sustainability.
When Lucy Osburn stepped ashore in Sydney in 1868, she had the task of implementing Florence Nightingale’s vision for a new kind of nursing. In the next 16 years, Osburn fought to reform Sydney Hospital, improve nursing care, and create a profession for women. In doing so, she transformed Australian healthcare yet became a lightning rod for criticism — ultimately from Nightingale herself. This talk uncovers the controversies that shaped Lucy Osburn’s career and explores why she is celebrated as the founder of modern nursing in Australia.
