In this intensive design workshop City of Bayswater residents will be guided through the process of planning a waterwise verge garden.
Join us to learn how you can ReWild your garden to provide essential food for the Endangered Carnaby’s Cockatoo. Any garden can provide food for wildlife. Learn how every plant matters and just one plant can make a difference. 50% of ticket proceeds are donated to Kaarakin Black Cockatoo Conservation Centre and 50% contributes to Perth NRM’s Carnaby’s Cockatoo Project. Receive a seedling to take home to get you started. Please bring a water bottle. This event will involve walking on lose gravel paths, uneven terrain and slopes. Enclosed shoes and sun protection are required. This project is funded by the Australian Government Natural Heritage Trust and delivered by Perth Natural Resource Management, a member of the Commonwealth Regional Delivery Partners panel.
Landcare SJ Inc is hosting a Nest box Building workshop at the Landcare SJ community centre to provide habit for local fauna. The event will start with a presentation from Dr Drew Batty - Landcare SJ Senior Environmental Coordinator, you will learn about our local SJ Fauna, their natural habitat, the need for nest boxes. Then you will build your own nest box, from a suitable choice of a Possum, Pardalote, Owl or Bat Box to take home and install at your residence. This activity requires the use of basic power drills, hand tools, glue and paint, please come prepared to get messy wearing suitable enclosed footwear and sun protection. Light Refreshments will be provided. Parental supervision required for all Children/Minors. There is a limited number of nestboxes so we will be implementing the following limits. A Limit of 1 box per household, (1 ticket has been allocated per Nestbox available) A limit of 2 participants per Nest Box/Ticket.
