Over summer, we’ll be nurturing our native seedlings through targeted watering and weeding to help them withstand the heat, outcompete invasive species, and support the long-term health of this vital habitat. Forrestdale Lake is a unique seasonal wetland that provides crucial ecosystem services for both wildlife and people — from blue-carbon sequestration and natural water filtration to offering essential habitat and food sources for native birds and animals.
