Love great cinema and lively discussion? The Leedy Film Club invites you to join a community of film lovers for monthly screenings of classic, international, and thought-provoking films. Each session features a hand-picked film followed by an informal discussion where you can share your thoughts, ideas, and insights with fellow film buffs. Each screening will be followed by a discussion led by film academic, writer, and filmmaker, Dr Damien Spiccia. Damien has lectured at WAAPA and Edith Cowan University, where he developed courses in screenwriting, film production, and screen history, and has presented at international film conferences. This is an adults-only event. March Screening: Charade In this equally thrilling and romantic classic, Regina Lampert (Audrey Hepburn) falls for the dashing Peter Joshua (Cary Grant) while on holiday in the French Alps. Her newfound romance is interrupted, however, upon her return home, when it is revealed that her husband has been murdered. Regina and Peter soon find themselves pursued by her husband's World War II cronies, Tex (James Coburn), Scobie (George Kennedy) and Gideon (Ned Glass), who are after the quarter of a million dollars the quartet stole while behind enemy lines. BAFTA Awards Golden Globes 'First-time teaming of Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn, a natural, gives the sophisticated romantic caper an international appeal, plus the selling points of adventure, suspense and superb comedy.' - Robert B. Growing Up Nyima is a documentary film that follows Nyima Tucker, a young woman of Ngarluma, Banjima, and Yamatji heritage, as she moves between the worlds of city and country. Born in the Pilbara and raised in Karratha before relocating to Perth at sixteen, Nyima’s journey captures the tension between modern life and ancestral connection. Across the 1,500 km that separate these landscapes, she reconnects with country through new eyes and grapples with the meaning of home. In November 2025, after years away, Nyima returns to her roots for the first time as an adult, confronting the landscapes and memories that shaped her. Growing Up Nyima is a moving exploration of culture, family, and the ever-calling of home.
