Let the Gravity Discovery Centre take you on an astral journey through our Southern night sky. The evening includes a presentation, laser guided tour, and telescopic observation, guided by an incredibly knowledgeable Astronomer. This experience is family friendly and suitable for all ages.
The WIRF Scientific Dialogue is the Women and Infants Research Foundation's premier scientific event. It showcases new and innovative research programs, from local and visiting experts, that are positively impacting the health of babies, women, their pregnancies, and their families. Includes presentations, Q&A, and awards.
University of California's Professor Kip Will explores why taxonomic science is critical to carabid beetle conservation and biosecurity.
Become a citizen scientist by helping us count Black Cockatoos at a local roost site as they arrive for the evening. The Great Cocky Count (GCC) is a citizen-science survey, and the biggest single survey for black-cockatoos in Western Australia. Volunteers will be assigned trees to monitor near a known roost site (Birdlife will assign us a location on the 31st of March. It will be within the City of Kwinana) and count black-cockatoos as they arrive in the evening. Records submitted from across south-western WA provide a snapshot of black-cockatoo populations, helping us quantify changes in their numbers.
Join Electrify Everything WA for a hands-on community workshop on household electrification! This practical, interactive session will help you explore real-world examples of electrified homes in WA, learn about rebates, financing options, and future-ready technologies, and create your own Household Electrification Plan. Whether you’re just starting to explore your options or ready to take the next step, this workshop will empower you with the tools and knowledge to electrify your home and be part of WA’s clean energy future.
