This training course is designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge to understand dysphagia and swallowing difficulties. Dysphagia mealtime management training equips individuals, especially those supporting people with swallowing difficulties (dysphagia), with the knowledge and skills to ensure safe and enjoyable mealtimes. This training covers understanding dysphagia, recognising at-risk individuals, interpreting mealtime management plans, and implementing strategies to modify food and drinks for safe consumption. Participants will develop their knowledge and confidence to assist clients with their specific eating and drinking needs including safe ingesting of food, drinks and medicines, and understanding the use of a texture-modified diet and fluids.
