BottledSnail Productions presents a rehearsed play reading of Shakespeare's 'Romeo & Juliet', a one off performance in the historic former Bendigo Law Courts. BottledSnail Productions is a not for profit performing arts company providing a creative outlet to Melbourne's legal profession and the wider Melbourne creative community. One of the company's ongoing projects is 'Shakespeare in the Supreme' where members perform rehearsed readings of Shakespeare's plays in the Law Library in the Supreme Court of Victoria. Members of this project will perform a reading of Shakespeare's 'Romeo & Juliet' in another beautiful historic court, the former Bendigo Law Court, as part of the Australian Heritage Festival on Saturday 2 May from 3pm. Tickets are $20. One of Shakespeare's famous tragic love stories, follows the lives of two young lovers, Romeo & Juliet, in the Italian town of Verona who are born into opposing families, the Capulets and Montagues. A chain of events depicted in the play unfortunately lead to tragic consequences for the 'star crossed lovers'.
