The Graduate Agriculture and Food Society is hosting an exclusive visit to Costa Group’s Mernda facility, the largest mushroom production site in the Southern Hemisphere, with over 20 million mushrooms harvested weekly! This 2-hour guided tour offers a comprehensive look at the entire commercial mushroom lifecycle. You also engage with industry experts in the Q&A session!
Applications of nanostructures span many fields - renewable energy, electronics, textiles, food technology, environmental science, and medicine. Understanding the mechanics of these structures is essential, as it enables us to optimise their performance. In this talk, we will explore the geometries of nanostructures and examine how these geometric features influence the mathematical models used to describe and predict their behaviour.
Explore how the design decisions we make today shape the healthcare experiences of tomorrow. Planet Innovation extends a rare opportunity to step inside its innovation and manufacturing centre for an immersive exploration into how designers create world-leading healthcare products. Building on the success of our sold-out 2025 Melbourne Design Week open-house event, this year’s program responds directly to the 2026 theme, Design the world you want, by examining the legacy created through human-centred design and how we evolve to deliver a planet-centered design in MedTech.

Biomaterials could significantly reduce carbon emissions in the construction industry. If it was that straightforward, surely everyone would manufacture them. What are the barriers and how can they be overcome? As an Architect, Isabella created a podcast to genuinely engage with this question, interviewing Australian manufacturers of bio-based construction materials. These interviews focused on the regenerative nature of the materials and processes, fusing design, science and technology. This exhibition continues the thread of a solutions-focused, practical approach to specifying and coordinating biomaterial usage in building projects. Materials will be on display alongside helpful information and explanations. The materials exhibition will be open from 10am with a Susty Spec launch party from 6pm onwards.
