LA Festival of Movies presents *Drinking and Driving*, by directors Avalon Fast and Jillian Frank. 106 minutes, Canada, 2026. World Premiere! Early twenties Iris (Jillian Frank) and Palmer (Avalon Fast) never left their hometown. They work at the same restaurant, share the same bed, and both have a habit of drinking and driving. They run into Levi (Ethan Hawksworth), a guy they used to know. They spend time with him and his cousin, Phoenix (Henri Gillespi), in cars, backyards, and other people's bedrooms. When Levi shares a dream he had with Iris things change between the four of them. The reality of the summer becomes faded, the parties die. The four end in a field of unified confusion.

Robbie Fitzsimmons is a Santa Cruz–based singer, songwriter, pianist, frontman, and playwright who was mentored in songwriting by Paul Simon and is a platinum-certified co-writer on Lana Del Rey’s Ultraviolence. Drawing from lived experience, he is transparent in his storytelling, with lyrics and music that intertwine to recreate emotions that are difficult to face but universally experienced. Fitzsimmons has performed original music at international festivals including Glastonbury, Electric Forest, and Lightning in a Bottle. Tonight at the Improv is a unique phone-free comedy show. Phones and smart devices will be secured in Yondr cases for the duration of the performance.
