Twilight Talks have been held at the BMI since 2001, providing a great opportunity to hear some fantastic speakers and meet up with friends over drinks. Guests can arrive at the Humffray Room from 5pm for drinks and conversation, followed by a 30 to 40-minute talk at 5.30pm, concluding at approximately 6.30pm. This event takes place on Wadawurrung Country. The Ballaarat Mechanics' Institute acknowledges the Wadawurrung People of the Kulin Nation as the first inhabitants and Traditional Custodians of the lands where we work, learn and create. Always Was, Always Will Be, Aboriginal Land.

Join us for a sensory based craft activity inspired by The Very Hungry Caterpillar’s Easter Picnic children’s book By Eric Carle. Explore the Vickers Street Hub garden area and work alongside your child, through a variety of creative activity stations to re-create the friendly creatures found in the story. This session is designed to be a co-learning activity where parents and carers (over the age of 18) participate as core support for their child.

Come and join the City of Ballarat Ageing Well Community Connectors as we share factual information around accessing Commonwealth funded My Aged Care and Support at Home services. Topics covered will include a general overview on My Aged Care funding levels, programs and responsibilities, how to access an assessment for yourself, family member or care recipient, and how to navigate the complaints process. A Q&A session will be followed by follow up support available from our Community Connectors post event.
