Join one of our volunteer guides for a casual and relaxing walk through Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve on Jinibara Country. Immerse yourself in nature as you discover the secrets of this diverse and stunning rainforest island, and learn about its ecology and history. The rainforest track consists of boardwalk, sealed and unsealed sections and varies from relatively flat to a moderate gradient. A reasonable level of fitness is required. Come dressed for a walk in the outdoors.

Calling all citizen scientists, join us to survey pademelons in Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve. Join a team of volunteers to help survey the red-legged pademelons in Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve. Regular seasonal surveys are conducted in the reserve to monitor pademelon numbers and behaviour. The survey takes place over approximately 1 - 2 hours with observations being made from the track. Anyone with an interest in observing native wildlife is welcome to join. Binoculars are useful. To minimise disturbance participants need to be quiet while conducting the survey. Numbers are limited and registration essential. Meet in front of the Rainforest Discovery Centre at 7.15am for a 7.30am start.
