An art conversation program for people with dementia and their care partners. Each booking comprises of two seats – one for you and one for your family member living with dementia – for an enjoyable, safe and social experience that employs artwork to trigger conversation. Participants in Art and Memory will arrive at 10am and have a cuppa and bite to eat, before taking a closer look at two selected artworks. It’s not an art theory lesson, you don’t need prior art knowledge or a passion for art. The aim of this specialised program is for gallery staff to help you take the time to look at artworks and notice features and themes. What you see in the works will trigger thoughts, ideas and memories, and always generates relaxing and enjoyable discussion.
