Prolific British singer-songwriter, Billie Marten, will tour Australia in support of her fifth album, Dog Eared, out now via Fiction Records. Billie Marten loves to leave her mark on a good book—underlining important passages, scribbling ideas in the margins, folding the corners of pages into dog ears to mark her place. The 10 songs of Dog Eared serve that purpose, telling the story of who she was as she wrote and recorded it, cleaving her adolescence from her adulthood in order to move forward. She is the songwriter who finds wisdom in horses and encourages self-reflection while realizing she has barely begun her own. She is the singer who makes the chorus of “Goodnight Moon” as beautiful as a lunar corona and smartly lets dissonance slip between her voice and the band around her as she watches something she loves disappear during “Crown.” Marten is a consummate singer-songwriter who has dared to push beyond the limitations of that form and make a stunning record that marks a new page, suggesting what comes next through the strength and beauty of what’s right here.
Some songs come in a rush; some take their sweet time. "Starlights" took us almost 5 years to build, says Birds Of Tokyo guitarist Adam Spark. "It always felt like we were trying to find something just beyond our reach". So, there’s a strange symmetry in the anthemic rock track finally falling into place just as a perfect purpose revealed itself. This Sunday The Starlight Foundation launches "Streamas", a campaign using special online appearances to raise funds for seriously ill children. "Starlights" has been donated as the soundtrack for the campaign and Birds of Tokyo will kick off the campaign with a special YouTube performance.

To celebrate 20 years of The Herd’s era-defining third record The Sun Never Sets, the much-loved hip hop group are set to tour nationally in February 2026. Proudly presented by Destroy All Lines, The Sun Never Sets 20th Anniversary Tour will visit Thirroul, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, and Hobart, with audiences treated to tracks from the iconic album, alongside fan favourites from across their discography. A group ahead of their time, The Herd boldly delved into controversial topics and opened conversations around anti-racism, decolonisation, anti-war and environmentalism through their songwriting, with The Sun Never Sets cementing them as one of the most sociopolitically vocal acts in the country. The ARIA and J Award-nominated record also introduced singer Jane Tyrrell to The Herd, who, after featuring on the album and performing with them on the opening shows of the tour, was asked to join the band over the phone as they went on stage for their triple j Live at the Wireless show in Newcastle. The Sun Never Sets led to one of the most iconic Like A Versions in triple j history, with The Herd’s cover of Redgum’s ‘I Was Only 19’ [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0yfuR5b-hBo]. The track featured on the album’s re-issue, was certified ARIA Gold, and landed at #18 both in 2005’s triple j Hottest 100 and 2023’s Hottest 100 of Like A Versions - the only song polled from that decade, and a testament to its enduring impact. With an unconventional but incredibly compelling set-up of rappers, singers, guitars, laptops, samplers bass, and piano accordion, The Herd were swiftly cemented as one of Australia’s most exciting live bands. Their popularity was heightened with appearances at Australia’s biggest festivals, including Big Day Out, Splendour In The Grass, Falls Festival, Homebake, Groovin The Moo, Parklife, and many more. An extension of the project’s impact, the core members of The Herd established and ran Elefant Traks, one of Australia’s most respected independent labels, for 25 years before its closure in 2024. Alongside their labelmates, The Herd joined a sold out send-off tour to celebrate the label’s legacy, with performances at Sydney Opera House, Melbourne Recital Centre, and Brisbane’s The Tivoli. Reflecting on 20 years of The Sun Never Sets, The Herd member and founder of Elefant Traks, Kenny Sabir aka Traksewt, says it was the album that changed everything for the group. “It was the first time we broke through to festivals, which wasn’t easy for a hip hop band on an independent label back then. It came out in the shadow of the Cronulla riots, when flag-draped racism was on the rise, and we were pushing back with tracks like ‘National Holiday’. We were still deep in experimentation mode too, making the MCs rap in odd time signatures and seeing how far we could stretch things. Judging by the awkward crowd dancing, we definitely found the limit. We were lucky to be part of one of the first Like A Version sessions with ‘I Was Only 19’. That song always hit me as a kid, and reimagining it gave the album an extra life. We’re so excited to be celebrating this record on the special 20th anniversary tour and blast the jumpable crowd with faves like ‘Unpredictable’, ‘Under Pressure' and ‘We Can’t Hear You’, alongside some deeper album cuts.” Tickets to The Sun Never Sleeps 20th Anniversary Tour are on general sale from Friday 7th November at 10.00am local time, with DAL presale available on Wednesday 5th November at 10.00am local time. Prepare to step into a spectacular new chapter for melodic hardcore act BLOOM, with the Sydney five-piece set to release their eagerly-anticipated sophomore album this Friday, alongside the announcement today of a national Australian headline tour to officially launch the album on home soil next February, joined by special guests AVOID (USA). Starting their national run on Wednesday 11 February in Brisbane, BLOOM will trek through the Gold Coast, Newcastle, Sydney, Wollongong, Melbourne and Frankston, before concluding on Saturday 21 February in Adelaide. One of the most prolific rising acts on the Australian heavy scene, BLOOM emerged in 2017, introducing the world to their open-veined take on melodic hardcore that would ultimately build into their 2024 debut full-length, Maybe In Another Life. Wasting no time to rest on their laurels or the acclaim that accompanied their debut LP, BLOOM quickly turned their gaze to working on their sophomore album The Light We Chase (due out October 31 via Pure Noise Records); a multi-faceted and matured collection of songs that finds the band extending their creative reach beyond internal and external expectations. Steeped in light and shade equally, amongst stadium-ready anthems, hazy moments that straddles shoegaze, grunge and dreampop, bone-rattling heaviness and lashings of authentic emotion, The Light We Chase firmly places BLOOM at the forefront of heavy music, while also boasting the group's first credited guest vocals, including Movements' Patrick Miranda, Yours Truly's Mikaila Delgado and Void Of Vision's Jack Bergin. Recently ticking off performances with Silverstein in Europe earlier this year, as well as performances throughout 2025 alongside Chelsea Grin, Currents, Trophy Eyes, and their own almost entirely sold out run in support of single Withered last month, BLOOM are now currently on the road with fellow Aussie staples Thornhill and Ocean Grove in the UK and Europe, and will close out the year in North America supporting Silverstein. With their live show declared most recently by HiFi Way as 'a rip-roaring success', and Scenestr praising that 'the energy is purely unmatched and is definitely a contender for performance of the year', BLOOM's anticipated return to Australian audiences in 2026 is only set to ignite further following the release of The Light We Chase this Friday. A band with no shortage of adjectives to describe their high-octane sound, spanning engaging, edgy, erratic, irreverent, wild, vibrant and fun, Seattle five-piece AVOID channel the insatiable sonic legacy of their home town into their own unique aesthetic, bringing passion, innovation and provocation back into heavy music, while also building a powerful community in the process. Introducing a new era for the band via singles like My World, COWABUNGA and Split (Kill It) in the lead-up to their 2022 album Cult Mentality, AVOID have also carved out an enviable reputation for their live performance, catapulting 90s/00s aesthetics and infectious hedonism into the modern day that has seen them in demand touring with Silent Planet, Dayseeker and Thornhill amongst many others.

Jade LeMac has a magnifying glass on pop music’s soul. With the strength of her pen, the Vancouver-based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist paints a melodic world that embraces all the vulnerable layers many choose to hide. Now, for the first time, she brings her captivating sound to Australia, following the release of her new EP, It’s Always At Night out on November 7 (via Warner Music Canada / East West Records). In 2025, Jade’s musicality took centre stage at festivals like Lollapalooza where she opened for ROLE MODEL’s after party (featuring Olivia Rodrigo as a special guest) and Osheaga as well as touring with Maren Morris across North America. Now, Australian fans will get the chance to experience Jade LeMac’s immersive and deeply personal world of music live, as she brings It’s Always At Night to stages across the country.
