Find the best environment events and make the most of your time this weekend in Sydney. From music to pets and more, we have the biggest event range and best discovery experience, there's something for everyone.
Discover the Birds of Randwick Environment Park. Randwick Environment Park is a gem! It’s an island of biodiversity, with its beautiful bushland and sparkling wetland offering shelter and food for wildlife, including lots of bird species. We will slowly explore the area in the early morning when birds are at their most active, and hopefully we’ll see many different species of landbirds and waterbirds, from large and noisy ones to tiny, secretive ones. We often see them very close, and in stunning detail through the telescope. We’ll watch their fascinating behaviours, learn a few birdcalls, and contribute to conservation by adding our sightings to BirdLife’s National database, Birdata. You will be guided by ecologist Renée Ferster Levy, who delights in birdwatching and seasonal changes as different native plants flower and fruit. She has observed over 80 bird species in and above Randwick Environment Park in the last 10 years and is fascinated by how each bird uses the area, and what we can do to help them thrive even outside the Park.

Join the Bushland team for a guided walk around Balls Head Reserve to discover habitat features that give native animals a place to shelter and survive. Please wear sturdy enclosed shoes and sun protection including a hat and sunscreen. Recommended for ages 12+.
It's joey season for Sydney Wildlife, so this working bee we are focusing on making housing for possums and gliders in the care of these amazing organisations. Come along and help us as we learn to make possum homes with possum carers from around Sydney. You can either keep your drey or leave it with us to be donated to Sydney Wildlife or WIRES. This talk will be followed by a short working bee in the garden where we grow food for wildlife that are in the care of organisations such as Sydney Wildlife and WIRES.
Free family planting day at Artarmon Reserve! Learn gardening, beautify the park, grab a free hot drink, and picnic together outdoors. Bring the family along for a relaxed and hands-on day in the park, where nature, community and connection come together!

'Backyard Biodiversity' is an invitation to explore and learn about the night time biodiversity of the Manly Dam Catchment with Wildife Expert, Juan Forero
