This two-day Variable Charge Soils Conference workshop has been designed for delegates from Island Nations, Australia and New Zealand. It focuses on addressing the challenges associated with variable charge soils, including phosphorus availability, nutrient retention, salinity response, and resilience to climate-induced extremes. The workshop offers practical management strategies and training-led, policy-relevant capacity-building interventions. Attendees will gain knowledge on improved climate-aware soil and nutrient management, practical soil-based mitigation and adaptation options, and a 'Pacific Soil Doctors' roadmap aligned with climate and food security priorities.
