EquiEnergy Youth is a not-for-profit and registered charity that is dedicated to improving mental health outcomes for children and young people across Australia. Their programs are designed to build capacity in communities to support the mental health of children and young people and reduce instances of psychological distress. The event will provide coaching in the use of scripts and engagement strategies to adopt when responding to distress using the TAR3 Psychological First Aid Method. Attendees will learn a 5 step evidence-based psychological first aid framework for responding to episodes of distress and behavioral challenges. They will also learn simple ways to help players build coping, resilience, and positive help-seeking behavior, and the vital role they play in promoting this. The context of why child and adolescent mental health occurs and what you can do to improve mental health outcomes for the young people you support will be discussed. Attendees will have access to the new TAR3Connect app. Attendance is complimentary and bookings are essential.
