Bukut Qalavangan is an indigenous Bunun student from Taiwan currently studying at the University of Melbourne. Through sharing his background and experiences, Bukut hopes to introduce others to the beauty and depth of Taiwanese culture. He is especially passionate about highlighting Taiwan’s Indigenous heritage, the importance of cultural preservation, and the stories that reflect the resilience and warmth of its people. He believes that cultural exchange is a meaningful way to build understanding, respect, and connection across different communities. By taking part in this introduction, Bukut hopes to offer a deeper perspective on Taiwan beyond its geography, helping others appreciate its traditions, diversity, and the values that continue to shape its society today. Through this sharing, he also hopes to encourage dialogue and inspire greater interest in Taiwan’s people and culture.
