Join us for a vibrant, fun and inclusive event for Young Carers aged 12–16 as part of SA Youth Week. Held at the renowned youth venue Brocas Youth Space at St Clair, the festival will provide a welcoming, accessible and creative environment where Young Carers can connect, express themselves and be celebrated. The event will feature a diverse range of interactive and culturally inclusive activities, including Glitter Bar, Young Carer Expressive Art Wall, Interactive Cultural Activities, Photo Booth, Lego Workstations, Giant games, Nintendo Game challenge, Chillout zone, and more. Food and refreshments will be provided. The Carers SA Young Carer Team will be in attendance, offering support, guidance and engagement throughout the day. The Young Carer Youth Fest is a collaboration with the Carers SA Young Carer Collective, comprising Young Carers who have generously shared their insights, experience and input into the planning and coordination of this exciting event.
Bring along a friend and work your way through an escape room game in virtual reality! Escape Simulator. Pick up and examine clues, break objects, solve locks and decipher puzzles to escape! Play in teams of two and try to beat the clock in this challenging series of rooms! Please note for safety reasons this virtual reality experience is strictly for participants aged 8 and older.
Come and experiment with some basic spray paint skills as part of our school holiday program and SA Youth Week. Artist, Jimmy Dodd will lead participants through a number of processes, focusing mostly on stenciled aerosol techniques. Wear clothes that can get a bit messy. Participants will take home your own small artwork. Snacks provided. Bookings essential.
Come learn some basic cooking skills and recipes then share what you’ve made with your community. Build basic cooking skills, learn new recipes, and enjoy sharing your creations with the community. Come along and join Rachael on Thursday 16 April and Thursday 23 April to master an easy omelette and learn how to cook simple pasta. Book for one or both sessions during the school holidays. All age and abilities welcome. Free. Limited spaces. Registration essential. Preference will be given to City of Mitcham residents.
