Build your skills and confidence to navigate the online world securely and smartly.

This Free Water Safety and Swimming Program is a vital initiative specifically designed for the African and Kenyan community in Adelaide, South Australia. Hosted by Surf Life Saving South Australia in partnership with Bridging Wellbeing, this program addresses the unique needs of those who may not have grown up around oceans, rivers, or pools. Recognizing that water is a central part of the Australian lifestyle, the sessions aim to build essential confidence and safety skills to protect families and children. The program is open to adults, youth, and parents, requiring no prior swimming experience. Participants will learn how to stay safe at the beach and in pools, develop water-based confidence, and acquire practical skills to prevent accidents. The curriculum includes five indoor pool sessions at The Parks YMCA and a final practical beach session at Glenelg Beach. While the program is 100% free, bookings are essential.
