Yusa & World of RhythmsYusa is a Havana-born guitarist, bassist, vocalist, tres player, and composer. She relocated to New Orleans in 2020 and has been spending time collaborating with many of the citys most talented musicians. An original bandleader of Cuban bands Interactivo and Quasi Jazz, her compositions have earned her international acclaim, and her 5 albums have won her multiple awards, including one from BBC World Radio. *Presented in partnership with the CubaNOLA Arts Collective. After taking the Louisiana music scene by storm in 2018, Jourdan Thibodeaux et Les Rdailleurs have developed a reputation for pairing ancient traditions with incomparable energy. Preserving a culture while pioneering its advancement, Grammy Award winning and nominated musicians Joel Savoy, Cedric Watson, and Alan Lafleur, join Adam Cormier in bringing Jourdans stories to life. Known for his authenticity, and being one of the few young people speaking Cajun French today, Jourdan Thibodeaux has been called the future of cajun music by Acadiana Profile Magazine. Helen Gillet: ReBelle MusiqueHelen Gillet is an innovative cellist, singer, and composer known for blending jazz, classical, avant-garde, and world music influences into a unique and dynamic sound. Originally from Belgium and now based in New Orleans, Gillet has forged a distinct musical identity through her experimental approach to the cello, which incorporates live looping, improvisation, and electronic effects. Drawing inspiration from her diverse cultural background and musical training, she moves effortlessly between genres, creating richly layered compositions and striking improvisations. Gillet has collaborated with an eclectic range of artists, including avant-jazz drummer Hamid Drake, saxophonist James Singleton, and the jazz-funk group Stanton Moore Trio. Her sound is as much shaped by the traditions of European classical music as by the vibrant rhythms of New Orleans, where she has become a fixture in the citys thriving music scene.As a solo artist, Helen Gillet has released several critically acclaimed albums, including Helkiase, Bangkok Silver, and The Running of the Bells, which showcase her talent for blending haunting melodies, looped soundscapes, and soulful vocals. Her live performances are mesmerizing and often include spontaneous improvisations that highlight her mastery of the cello and her fearless exploration of sound. In addition to her solo work, Gillet has collaborated on projects that span jazz, experimental rock, and world music, reflecting her passion for cross-genre exploration.
