Learn to make your own fashion samples from paper and ephemera! This three-hour introduction to paper garments class will begin with mini six-inch mannequins and graduate to large, two foot mannequins. Students will work with various paper and mixed media elements to convey three-dimensional drape, flair and decoration on a two-dimensional framework. All supplies will be provided, including die-cut mannequins to build upon.
Bring your best Friend and join an Earring Making Party! This is a morning class, 9-12. There are no cash refunds, however the price of the class can be used as credit in a future class, either for yourself or a gift to another, credit towards private lessons or a deposit on a custom commission paper garment.
Learn about our historic downtown and join the international urban sketching movement in this introductory class.
Enjoy an outdoor sketching field trip along the beautiful Kaw River. Around 2:45 pm we will return to our cars and meet up at my air-conditioned studio (721 E. 9th) for light snacks and refreshments. Here I will teach you Japanese Stab Style book binding to collect all your sketches into a small book.
Create a memorable mixed media piece honoring a significant place on our planet. Join Liza MacKinnon for a mixed media exploration of the sense of place, home, and the journeys we take. Select maps and images from Liza's extensive resources and create links, honor places, and define locations that resonate with your life. Arrive with ideas, and Liza will shop her thousands of maps to find you a perfect substrate for your mixed media masterpiece. Class size is limited to 10 participants. No cash refunds, but the price of the class can be used as credit in a future class, either for yourself or as a gift to another, credit towards private lessons, or a deposit on a custom commission paper garment.
