The annual Douglas County KS First Responder Valor Awards Ceremony honors first responders whose actions often go unseen, yet make an extraordinary difference in the lives of others and in the strength of our community. Recipients of awards for valor are determined through a thoughtful committee process, ensuring each recognition reflects careful consideration and group input. The heart of the evening belongs to the stories themselves and the opportunity for Douglas County residents to show appreciation, stand in support, and say thank you in person.
Learn to make your own fashion samples from paper and ephemera! This three-hour introduction to paper garments class will begin with mini six-inch mannequins and graduate to large, two foot mannequins. Students will work with various paper and mixed media elements to convey three-dimensional drape, flair and decoration on a two-dimensional framework. All supplies will be provided, including die-cut mannequins to build upon.
The KC Wedding Guild luncheon will be held at the University of Kansas on May 5th, 2026. Featuring Nicole McCullough, owner of Smith Hat Company, this event will elevate weddings and guest experiences. Join us for a day of networking and business opportunities.
