Join us in person to see whether the CIO or CDO really runs the Data & AI show! As organisations continue to accelerate their use of data and AI, the partnership between the Chief Information Officer and Chief Data Officer has become critical to business success. Together, these leaders play a central role in driving innovation, managing risk, and delivering measurable value through technology and data. DAMA Melbourne is organising this event in partnership with Australian Computer Society. Join us for an engaging fireside chat with senior technology and data executives as we explore how CIOs and CDOs are aligning priorities, shaping enterprise data strategies, and enabling responsible AI adoption across modern organisations. This session will unpack the realities of executive collaboration, including how leaders balance speed with governance, experimentation with accountability, and ambition with commercial outcomes.
Explore how the design decisions we make today shape the healthcare experiences of tomorrow. Planet Innovation extends a rare opportunity to step inside its innovation and manufacturing centre for an immersive exploration into how designers create world-leading healthcare products. Building on the success of our sold-out 2025 Melbourne Design Week open-house event, this year’s program responds directly to the 2026 theme, Design the world you want, by examining the legacy created through human-centred design and how we evolve to deliver a planet-centered design in MedTech. The event will open with a showcase of award-winning, world-first medical products before transitioning to a panel discussion led by a diverse team of experienced and emerging designers. The interactive panel discussion will unpack the product development journey of real products that are changing the future of healthcare. The case studies will explore how early design choices influence patient experiences, clinical workflows and long-term health outcomes. The audience will be involved in conversations that discuss: • What can we learn from MedTech products that haven’t changed for the past 20 years? • How are cutting edge technologies impacting how we deliver healthcare today? • How can we better introduce circular design and sustainability into healthcare? The discussion will then lead into a guided tour across three floors of Planet Innovation’s design and manufacturing facility. Attendees will gain behind-the-scenes access to multidisciplinary teams developing healthcare technologies at the forefront of innovation that has transitioned into real-world impact. The event will conclude with a networking session, bringing together designers, founders, engineers and industry professionals. The aim is to encourage engagement, inspire thinking and celebrate the legacy that Australia’s design community is leaving on global healthcare.
