Immerse yourselves in the spectacular delights of Agrabah with the Yeppoon Choral Society this School Holidays! The Yeppoon Choral Society and the Livingstone Shire Council are teaming up again to bring you a spectacular, family-friendly musical. This time, they're taking you to the city of Agrabah and the Cave of Wonders with Disney's Aladdin Jr. Aladdin is a kind but poor “street rat” living in the city of Agrabah. He dreams of a better life. One day, he meets Princess Jasmine, who has secretly left the palace because she wants freedom from royal rules. Meanwhile, the evil sorcerer Jafar tricks Aladdin into retrieving a magical lamp from the Cave of Wonders. Inside the lamp is the powerful Genie, who grants Aladdin three wishes. Aladdin uses his wishes to become a prince to win Jasmine’s love, but he struggles with being honest about who he really is. Jafar eventually steals the lamp and uses its power for himself, putting the kingdom in danger. In the end, Aladdin defeats Jafar, learns to be true to himself, and uses his final wish to free the Genie. Jasmine is allowed to marry for love, and the two end up together. Filled with fabulous sets and scenery, heartwarming moments and catchy songs, Aladdin Jr will take audiences on a wonderful carpet ride across deserts and cities and the power of friendship and bravery. Get ready to enjoy this marvellous show with a truly fantastic full children cast!
From the mountains of Victoria’s High Country to the Queensland coast, Jack Raymond brings his Mountain Roots sound to Yeppoon for a special night at Queen St Hall. Jack’s songs carry the dust of long roads and the weight of honest stories. Blending folk storytelling with blues grit, his voice has that rare mix of warmth and edge that draws a room in close. Joining him is California born multi instrumentalist Jay Bishoff. Jay adds soaring harmonies, expressive lead guitar, harmonica and hand percussion, bringing colour and lift to the songs. Together, they sing from the soft parts and lean into the groove. It is roots music that feels lived in, unpolished in all the right ways, and deeply human. This will be an intimate hall show. Completely BYO, so bring your favourite drink. Chairs are provided. Settle in for a night of stories, songs and connection.
