What's On in Seaforth

Join us for a fun day getting your hands dirty and helping bring seagrass back to life! Join local seagrass scientists at Seaforth Beach for a hands-on volunteer afternoon restoring precious seagrass meadows in our region. During the event you will help collect seagrass cores destined for the seagrass nursery at Coral Sea Marina in Airlie Beach, supporting vital restoration efforts at Sarina Inlet. You will also learn how seagrass meadows sustain diverse marine life, explore the beautiful intertidal zone, and enjoy free snacks with fellow ocean lovers. All ages are welcome. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. This project is funded by the Australian Government's Protecting the Great Barrier Reef: Community Stewardship Program, delivered by Reef Catchments in partnership with CQ University and OzFish Unlimited.
