This is Sting’s own story and distinctive sound wrapped in musical theatre magic. Sting and international reggae icon Shaggy, will share the stage alongside 48 artists, musicians and choristers. If you’re a fan of Sting, his music – from raw folk and rousing choirs to intimate ballads – forms the beating heart of the production. Communities across Queensland will experience this powerful and poignant production, streamed live and direct from Opening Night, Saturday 11 April 2026. Sting takes on the leading role of Jackie White, the shipyard’s foreman whose health is failing just as his leadership is needed most. In this very personal show, the artist immerses the audience in a hometown he was desperate to escape, a world where love, loss, and hope intertwine.

The Allied Health professionals of North West Queensland are proud to host the Outback Allied Health Forum 2026 in Mount Isa on Thursday 30 July and Friday 31 July 2026. With the theme “Connecting Across Wide Horizons: Innovate, Adapt and Thrive,” the forum will bring together allied health practitioners, services, educators and researchers working across outback and rural communities. The event will provide a unique opportunity to connect with colleagues who understand the realities of delivering healthcare across vast distances and diverse communities. Participants will be invited to network, share knowledge and showcase innovative work that supports allied health practice in rural and remote settings. Presentations and discussions will highlight innovative projects, service models, education initiatives, research and programs that strengthen allied health services and improve health outcomes in rural and remote Australia. The forum aims to foster collaboration across disciplines, organisations and regions, creating space for practical conversations about how allied health professionals can continue to adapt, innovate and thrive while delivering high-quality care across wide horizons. A networking event will be held on Thursday evening at the historic Mount Isa Underground Hospital. This unique heritage site offers a memorable setting for informal connection and conversation. Guests will also have the opportunity to purchase tickets for guided tours of the Underground Hospital (approximately 30 minutes, ~$20 per person) during the event. Allied health practitioners and services from Outback Queensland and other rural regions are warmly invited to attend, present and contribute to what promises to be an engaging and collaborative forum celebrating the strength and innovation of allied health in rural and remote Australia. Additional workshops will be offered alongside the Outback Allied Health Forum, so stay tuned for more opportunities.
