Have A Seat At My Table is my idea of a way to connect artists to the wider community through a community engaged art project. My concept of each individual who joins the creating table will be creating single flowers out of recycled metal under my guidance, they will then be added together with others flowers onto a large mesh frame to become part of a joint project between artist, council and community. To create one flower is fabulous, but by joining all our flowers together we will create something amazing that anyone can be participate in. This collaboration will expand into something beyond what we could create alone. Our finished project will then be installed in the community garden area behind the Emerald Library, helping to beautify the area. This offers everyone a chance to be engaged in a community based project with in our region that will beautify the community garden space in the art precinct and give them a real connection to the area.
