Come discover the Geelong Botanic Gardens at dusk for a Wildlife Walk!

In March we came together to get a glimpse of what a Wellbeing Economy is and share our visions of a thriving future for Greater Geelong. Let’s continue the momentum by coming together again to connect, learn more and find out how to get involved. We’re turning Cloverdale into a cinema for the evening. We’ll watch the documentary film ‘Purpose’, which follows two visionaries, Katherine Trebeck and Lorenzo Fioramonti, as they work to shift our economic systems away from endless GDP growth and toward wellbeing for people and planet. You can view the trailer here. We’ll also be sharing back what we heard from you during the Wellbeing Economy conversation we had in March and talking about pathways to join the movement to redesign our economy so that it works for the wellbeing of people, planet, and future generations. There’ll be a light supper provided, a bar to purchase drinks and warm, welcoming vibes. All community members are welcome to attend, whether this is your first event with us or you’ve attended many. Doors will open at 5:30pm for mingling, food and drinks. Formalities to start at 6:15pm. Event will wrap up at 8:30pm.

Join Britt Silvester for a gentle, hands-on workshop creating butterfly seed bombs with Indigenous seeds of local grasses that will grow into the host plants our butterflies need. In this tactile and playful process, participants will shape small spheres of possibility, each one carrying the promise of colour, movement, and life. Designed for all ages, this workshop invites children and adults alike to Connect with Country and care for Country by supporting local pollinators and ecosystems. By scattering the seed bombs in gardens or overlooked spaces, the participants will take part in a quiet act of care, encouraging regeneration, biodiversity, and the soft rewilding of place. Facilitated by Britt Silvester, a Yorta Yorta contemporary artist known for creative works that draw deep inspiration from the natural world and Indigenous cultural heritage.
