Find the best history events and make the most of your time next 30-days in Paddys River. From history to environment and more, we have the biggest event range and best discovery experience, there's something for everyone.
Immerse yourself in Lanyon's colourful past with Tim the Yowie Man, as he recounts the tall tales of Lanyon’s early families and workers. Then under the cloak of darkness embark on a behind-the-scenes tour of Lanyon Homestead and surrounds. A unique experience that shines a spotlight on the untold stories of this historic property. Not for the faint-hearted. For participants aged 16 years and over. The tour involves walking over uneven ground, occasionally in low lighting. Please wear long pants, covered walking shoes and weather appropriate clothing. BYO water bottle and torch. Reasonable fitness required.
Join Senior Curator of Social History, Dr Hannah Paddon, in a talk about the recent acquisition of a painting by early surveyor Robert Hoddle. Learn about the significance of the work for Lanyon, and of Hoddle’s work in mapping our district and documenting our landscapes during the 1830s.
