Born and raised on a small farm in Lee County Iowa, a love of the land has always been an important part of William Elliott Whitmores life. An appreciation for nature and its cycles being taught from an early age. That awareness of birth and death is a constant theme in the songwriting, through a lens of hopefulness and acceptance. These things unify us as people, a theme that is often explored in the music. With a banjo, guitar and kick drum, Whitmore seeks to convey these ideas. For over twenty years he has traveled the world, performing everywhere from Rome, Italy to Rome, Georgia. Hes played basements, backyards, festival stages, and Carnegie Hall, and has no plans to stop anytime soon. Life is hard, nasty, and unforgiving at times, Whitmore says, but its beautiful too, and music can be a reminder of what we all have in common, a desire to keep putting one foot in front of the other.Special Guest: Adeem the Artist - Harvested in the roaming hills of the lower piedmont mountains, Adeem the Artist reimagines the soundscape of the greater American South. In short bursts of literary folk songs that draw inspiration from a full library of greater Roots sounds, Adeem traverses the complexities of political, racial violence and disparate realities with humor and elasticity.Frenetic their live performances nest in the intersection of stand-up comedy, social commentary, and well-seasoned country songs that follow the likes of Tyler Childers in expanding the genre. Their thematic albums and confounding one-person-show invite audiences to lead with curiosity, disarm their expectations, and warm up to the dialogue.

Altered Five smokes, smolders and burns like a swig of good whiskey. The hip Milwaukee quintet is known for its strong brew of tough, original blues and hard-hitting live shows. Blues Blast raves that barrel-chested front man Jeff Taylor possesses a smooth, warm-toned voice as monumental and undeniable as Howlin Wolf with the finish and flouring of B.B. King. Downbeat declares stealth guitarist Jeff Schroedl reaches the high bar of mixed invention and fluidity. Fueled by a rhythm section laying down the deepest grooves this side of the MGs, the award-winning group has remained at the forefront of contemporary blues for over two decades, performing in 13 countries around the world. The band will celebrate the release of their eighth studio album, Hammer & Chisel, at the concert. Chicago bluesman Matt Hendricks opens the show.

Dave Hause had an epiphany rewatching Goodfellas. Theres that scene in the beginning where Henry Hill says, As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be a gangster. The Philly-bred, California-based singer-songwriter always longed to be in a different kind of mob. This record is my realization that, as far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be in a rock and roll band. This record is that rock and roll band distilled into 10 songs. This record is And The Mermaid. And those 10 songs offer a welcome shock to the system, blending Hauses signature lyrical elan and gift for surging melodies with his keening vocals and some deliciously sharp musical elbows courtesy of the titular group.
