Find the best education events and make the most of your time this month in Seattle. From music to finance and more, we have the biggest event range and best discovery experience, there's something for everyone.
Join us for an intimate evening of queer literature and conversation as we read James Baldwin’s Giovanni’s Room, a groundbreaking novel about identity, love, shame, and exile. Whether it’s your first time reading it or your tenth, come as you are. No academic pressure or pretension. This is the first iteration of a new series at Asylum, hosted by @mommychondriac. The café will be open with tea and coffee. All are welcome, especially queer folks, BIPOC readers, and anyone looking for a soft place to land. Bring your thoughts, your heart, and your own copy (download it for free here: tinyurl.com/asylumbookclub1)
A deeply moving meditation on family, race, identity, and love, from the author of 'Killing the Black Body'

Get into VERA’s Recording Studio through this 2-hour workshop and studio orientation! Learn the studio infrastructure including, bootup, signalflow, patchbay setup, mixing desk operation, and basic Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) integration.
This is a free workshop to teach people how to mend their own clothes. Bring a damaged garment, and the willingness to learn a new skill. All mending tools will be provided (needles, thread, yarn, fabric scraps, etc) -- though if you want to bring your own stuff, you can. The event is hosted by Prairie Underground, Georgetown's small-batch, slow fashion design house. These events will take place once a month throughout the year.
