Find the best education events and make the most of your time next 30-days in Richmond. From music to technology and more, we have the biggest event range and best discovery experience, there's something for everyone.
Learn how to make a pillowcase with this fun burrito method. This class works on a variety of skills including the 'burrito method', French seams, cutting fabric and turning corners. It's a great class for someone super new or to learn a couple tricks that you can swing into a ton of other projects. Please bring one yard for the main fabric, 1/3 yard for your cuff and 1/4 yard fabric for the trim or a yard and a half of ribbon or trim pieces. (No glitter or sequins for this project. That'll slow you down a bit). You don't have to have a machine to take any of our beginner workshops. We have machines to lend. This class builds on skills you learn in our New To Sewing workshops.
No More Excuses: Five critical leadership failures in money, family, community, education & health—and the solutions to fix them now.
Learn four new embroidery stitches and have a sassy wall decor when you're finished.
This event is a part of an ongoing series of garden workshops led by Natural Areas Steward, Joseph Day. Come learn to pot up tree saplings. These trees are seed-grown and shipped here for a reforestry project in the Eco-Corridor. We will be potting these trees up for planting during RVA Tree Week in November. Join to learn about the different tree species, pruning techniques to grow a central leader, and how to take care of these new trees.
A hands-on natural hair training for youth ages 13-18. Learn detangling, wash day routines, product use, safe techniques, and beginner braid/twist foundations. Participants will receive a full starter kit with wash day products and styling accessories. This session is engaging and designed to empower youth with practical hands-on skills.
