Celebrate Arbor and Earth Day by learning how to care for the trees and plants we already have at Paradise Creek and keep them healthy for years to come. We’ll focus on simple maintenance skills—like watering, mulching, and protecting young plants—that you can use not only here, but also for the trees and shrubs in your own life. This hands-on event helps our community nurture a stronger, greener future together.
Create your own resin on glass masterpiece. Tiffany will guide you through the process of choosing and designing your creation. All necessary supplies to complete this project are provided. You can and are encouraged to bring shells, pebbles, broken jewelry pieces, mementos, keepsakes, and other items to remember loved ones or fun times such as vacations. Pollinators, herbs, and edibles naturally complement one another, creating an abundant, resilient garden that nourishes both people and the ecosystem. You can cultivate all three together in a thriving, interconnected space that supports local ecology and community well-being. Join the Elizabeth River Project's Conservation Landscape Curator, Yolima Carr, for a skill-building, community-powered session on growing what thrives in the Tidewater region. We’ll explore native pollinator plants that support local ecology, perennial herbs that return year after year, and fruiting shrubs that offer harvests across the seasons. Learn how to grow food and medicine right where you live, share knowledge with neighbors, and build a garden that supports the whole community. Whether you’re new to growing or already tending a plot, you’ll leave with practical, analog skills for creating a garden that nourishes you, your pollinators, and your people. Event is free to attend - donations welcome to support the Elizabeth River Project's nature programming.
