During class you’ll learn how to whip up a perfectly balanced vinaigrette, sharpen your knife skills, pan-sear chicken and create an easy pan sauce to pair with it, and bake a classic almond cake. Before you know it, you’ll become a seasoned kitchen pro. At the end of class you’ll get to sit back, pat yourself on the back, and enjoy the meal you’ve made. You will be working in a small group. Channel your sweetest French Quarter memories over a plate of snowy, powdered sugar–covered beignets anytime you like, once you’ve mastered how to whip them up from scratch! During class you’ll pick up essential tips and tricks for proofing yeast doughs, as well as learning best practices for frying classic beignets. Once you’ve mastered the iconic treats, you’ll learn how to level-up your beignet game by creating a savory crawfish version as well as a pastry cream–filled beignet with a crackly brûléed top that channels another New Orleans classic, bananas foster. You will be working in a small group.
