Art Events in Summerville

In this one-hour handbuilding clay class, we’re celebrating the female form regardless the effects of gravity upon it. Here we accept and celebrate the tiny, uneven, wonky, droopy, and ridiculous. You’ll learn simple handbuilding techniques while sculpting a functional (or delightfully non-functional) food-safe dish that has way more personality than anything straight off a shelf. No experience needed, just a willingness to laugh at your clay, yourself, and the fact that gravity will absolutely do whatever it wants. All supplies are provided, creativity is encouraged, perfection is discouraged, and you’ll end up with a one-of-a-kind piece that is equal parts art object and conversation starter.
