Try your hand spinning yarn Learn some basic moves and tools to begin your spinning journey! In this 3-hour class, Min will guide you through the process of using a drop spindle to create yarn from wool fiber! You will learn some basic moves for holding and spinning your spindles and your fiber, including the ever-important spinning move called 'drafting.' There are many ways to do all of these things, and Laura will help you on your way to finding what works for you. Min will also demystify terms like 'S-Twist' and 'Z-Twist,' and concepts like plying will be demonstrated and introduced. You will leave the class with a spindle, a handful of fiber, and inspiration to spark your practice at home! Note, though many fibers can be spun into yarn, this class will focus on--and use--wool fiber.
