Father's Day
Join us for a jewelry making workshop at Pine Meadow Ranch led by 2026 PMRCAA Resident Artist Jingyi Yang. In this workshop, participants create simple yet meaningful pendants using horsehair and natural stones. Inspired by the horses here in Central Oregon and the artist’s own homeland in Inner Mongolia, where horses carry deep cultural symbolism. This craft experience emphasizes material integrity and a profound sense of place, while introducing the cultural significance of horsehair in art and adornment and drawing connections from Inner Mongolian equestrian traditions to broader Western and Indigenous artistic practices. Through this craft, materials become vessels of memory, land, and heritage.
Join us for a writing workshop at Pine Meadow Ranch led by 2026 PMRCAA Resident Artist Dina Abdulhadi. Through writing, we explore connections between past experiences of grief and the griefs we will continue to face during the climate crisis. Students are guided through several writing exercises of their own stories that braid personal experience with grief with the private and collective losses of climate change.
