Bring your lightly used riding clothes, workwear, and accessories to our annual gear swap! NW Trail Sisters (women-identifying) is hosting a free gear swap with an opportunity to purchase raffle tickets for new gear generously donated by our sponsors. All proceeds go directly back into NW Trail Sisters' events! Bring a bag to carry home your goods! This is a great opportunity to rehome your unwanted gear and add some new-to-you items to your collection. It's also a chance to make new friends and find a new riding buddy or two, or three! You may bring good-condition riding gear, workwear, accessories, shoes, hats, and unused or lightly used mountain bike components (please avoid brining boxes full of old greasy bike parts). This event is for people who identify as women or nonbinary. Don't have gear to swap? That's just fine! We want you to show up and shop!
Join NWTA and Portland Parks & Rec Ecologist Christian Haaning for a guided mountain bike tour of Powell Butte's flora and fauna. NWTA is thrilled to collaborate with Portland Parks and Recreation's Christian Haaning, who serves as a Natural Resource Ecologist for Powell Butte Nature Park and broader East Portland. Powell Butte offers miles of mountain biking trails right here within Portland city limits, and is also home to a diverse populations of plants and animals. In this guided tour, participants will meet at the main parking area, and join Christian and NWTA staff for a casual-paced ride through the park, with stops along the way to point out areas of interest and connect with the area more deeply. Expect to ride 3-5 miles on trails at a conversational pace. Participation is limited to 12. There is no cost to join, but please cancel your order if you're unable to join us to allow for others to participate. For any questions please contact Eric Oliver, erico@nw-trail.org.
In collaboration with the City of Portland, Sabin Community Development Corporation is hosting five monthly Play Streets events this year! The purpose of Play Streets is to close down a street to make space for play, learning, and fun for all ages, with a special focus on neighborhoods where parks and other outdoor community spaces are scarce. The Sabin CDC Play Streets series includes five events, each on the second Tuesday of the month May through September 2026, held from 4-7pm at 1420 NE Killingsworth St in Portland. The events are free to attend and all are welcome!
