Education Events in Philomath

Join us for a full-day spring field experience at Hazelton Farms, combining wild food education, regenerative agriculture, and hands-on livestock interaction. We will begin the day with a guided foraging hike, identifying native edible greens and learning how these plants fit into regional ecology, soil health, and seasonal nutrition. Following a light lunch, participants will enjoy a guided farm tour exploring pasture systems, rotational grazing practices, and agroecological management approaches used to steward the land. The afternoon concludes with a hands-on yak handling and brushing workshop, where participants will learn about yak behavior, fiber, handling techniques, and the role of livestock in regenerative farming systems. This field day is designed for curious eaters, farmers, land stewards, students, and anyone interested in reconnecting with the ecological systems that support our food.
