Passing forward the wisdom of tree grafting this hands on class will help you understand the importance and process of why we graft. During this class we will talk about the importance of tree grafting and the varying methods one can choose. We will provide a sharp knife, grafting wax, tape, soil, rootstock, scionwood, and pots. Each ticket holder will be given 6 rootstocks, and scion wood to create 2 heirloom pear varieties, and 4 apple varieties to graft. It is recommended that you keep the fruit trees in our greenhouse holding area until they have healed and begun growing (usually 1-2 months) and can pick up later in the spring. Feel free to bring a friend or two along if you want to share the experience of grafting together; just let Andrew know how many people you plan to bring so we have enough seating!
