Come celebrate the arrival of the brand new Pokémon Pinball game hosted by The Pinball Perch! No tickets or advance registration required, simply arrive before 1pm to register on site. Are you new to pinball tournaments? That’s great!! Don’t worry too much about these details, just show up at the time above, and we’ll show you how it works. It’s easy and a LOT of fun! We’ll be playing a 5-round group matchplay tournament. Each round, players will be put into groups of 3-4 and assigned one of the games to play. Tournament points are earned based on how you finish in that game using 7/5/3/1 scoring. Example: if you win the game, you earn 7 points; if you get 2nd place, you earn 5 points; and so on. Next round, new groups will be made, and you’ll be assigned your next game to play. We’ll do that for 5 qualifying rounds. After 5 rounds, the overall point standings will determine who moves on to the tournament finals. If we have 8-15 players, the top 4 will move on to finals; if we have 16+ players, 8 will move on to finals. Ties at the finals cutline will be broken by playing a full tiebreaker game. Any ties for seeding will be broken automatically. Finals will be PAPA style: 3 rounds of group matchplay with 4/2/1/0 scoring. $5 entry fee + coin drop (meaning you’ll need to pay for the games you play) $4 goes to the prize pool, $1 goes to IFPA tournament registration fees. The prize pool will be distributed as: 1st place: 50% of the prize pool 2nd place: 25% of the prize pool 3rd place: 15% of the prize pool 4th place: 10% of the prize pool The tournament is IFPA sanctioned and players will earn WPPR points. Potential format changes based on attendance We have 4 games at the Three Legged Dog, so if attendance exceeds 16, we will change the qualifying format to 2.5 hours of Max Matchplay to accommodate more players. The exact number of players moving on to finals may vary based on attendance, but will be no more than 50% of the qualifying field.
