Calling All Little Engineers! It is your time to shine on this train ride made for you! A family fun trip where kids are encouraged to dress up as a Railroad Engineer or Conductor, Movie Star, Famous Person such as Lincoln, baseball player, etc.. Hear popular children’s books read such as the Little Engine that Could and Tootle. First time riders get a special “First Train Ride Certificate” from Conductor Denny. Activities throughout the trip such as a Train Bingo Card and playing games like “The Conductor Says” will keep children entertained. All receive a pumpkin sugar cookie.
Travel back in time on a one hour WWII Troop Train departing from Dennison at the “Victory on the Homefront" Event. Honor your favorite veteran with a free ride on this 1940s themed Troop Train Ride, nostalgic of the many troop trains that passed through Dennison during WWII. The Dennison Railroad Depot Museum is a National Historic Landmark, recognized as the best example left in the entire nation of a WWII Servicemen’s Canteen. Veterans are very special to us. Bring your favorite veteran and join us for this Troop Train Ride designed to honor and remember our veterans. Extra time will be allowed to help our special guests board. Canteen volunteers will pass out locally made donuts– just like they did during WWII! Hear the history of the Canteen, 1940s music and memories shared on board. A great way to honor a veteran, remember your lost veteran and share the experience andmemories with younger generations.
Climb aboard the Storybook Express for an adventure with your favorite Storybook characters from traditional Fairy Tales. Hear their stories, sing songs, visit with Little Red Riding Hood, Peter Pan and Pirates, Alice and the Mad Hatter…and more. Enjoy a special Storybook Snack and bring your camera for photos with your favorite Character. Be sure to wear your favorite Storybook Hero or Villain costume!
There’s nothing scary about Bing’s Halloween Adventure. Grab your Halloween Costume and hop on board with Private Bulldog Bing. Visit and take photographs with Bing and his Museum friends, hear Bing’s story, play Bing Games, and eat your special Bing Halloween Treat! First Class passengers receive extra snacks, free museum admission and children receive a special Bing Bag with treats! Train Rides last approximately one hour. Don't forget to purchase your museum tickets and a Bing the Bulldog Plush Animal.
