Powerful Long Ladder presents Italy's Sardegna Teatro and La Piccionaia's production of August Wilson's 'Jitney'. Set in 1977 Pittsburgh, amidst the steel industry crisis, this play follows five drivers navigating a challenging economic landscape. It is the first foreign translation of Wilson's work, known for his cycle of plays about the African American experience. English supertitles will be projected during the performance. Render Me Softly and Porosa Animación (Bogota, Colombia) present Trátame Suavemente, a screening of experimental animation in Latin America. This screening is part of Render Me Softly, a pop-up animation festival in Cleveland, OH. Organized by Laura Camila Medina and supported through SPACES’s Satellite Fund, the festival highlights themes of tenderness, transformation, and becoming through screenings, workshops, and dialogue.
A monthly, intergenerational experience presented as part of moCa Saturdays, in partnership with the Cleveland Metroparks. This monthly program welcomes Metroparks naturalists each month at moCa as they facilitate interactive workshops focused on nature-based themes. Each session features three nature stations inside moCa and outside our front door in Cleveland Metroparks’ Mobile NatureTracks, alongside an immersive artmaking experience led by Wave Space Studio.
