Paolo Angeli is an innovative guitarist, composer, and instrument builder who performs on his 18-string prepared Sardinian guitar. Rooted in Sardinian folk music, Angeli’s original compositions encompass Arabic music, flamenco, jazz, baroque, post-rock and new music.

Latin Grammy winner Emilio Solla teams up with flamenco-jazz rising star Antonio Lizana. Together they have created a highly original piece, El Siempre Mar, where old Argentine folk songs live together with original compositions from both artists. They have managed to find a unique and contemporary meeting point between the music of Argentina, the south of Spain, and jazz.

The world-renowned flamenco company, Soledad Barrio & Noche Flamenca will perform Agua Fresca, their newest show featuring up and coming flamenco artists and veteran company members. A new free series at The Local curated by Mike Amari/Chosen Family in partnership with Wave Farm’s WGXC featuring Hudson Valley artists performing original music. **Pocket Merchant is a Hudson Valley-based jazz fusion quartet utilizing dark grooves and energetic melodies. The group features flute, saxophone, synth bass, and drums, from which emerges an electro-acoustic sound that is a mixture of jazz, improvisation, and contemporary composition. In the span of one Pocket Merchant set, listeners journey through fiery melodies, rolling bass, and shimmering textural landscapes, delivering a storytelling without words. In their debut album, "Doom Dance," the quartet explores the artists' insistence to create and express complex emotion despite feelings of economic, environmental, political, and other types of "doom"** **ABOUT LOCAL WAVES** "*We need to think small. Ongoing is a Coxsackie, NY based band that blends the folk tradition of storytelling with experimental psychedelic soundscapes, leaning into influences of early Fairport Convention and Neil Young. You can expect the raw sound of 70s cosmic country with electronic flourishes—each song its own world while maintaining the cohesive sound of friends playing music together. The band features lead vocals by Katie Jones, Adam Netsky of Maybird on drums, multi-instrumentalist Braden Bodensteiner and Jonathan Hudack on bass.

Spero is a musician, teaching artist, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. She is a proud blend of musical and ancestral roots ranging from Ohio, New Orleans, the Choctaw people of the Mississippi Delta to Hawai’i where she was raised. Her travels to West Africa sparked a lifetime-long love of rhythm which deeply influences her musical style. Blending tradition with soulful, ethereal melodies, she weaves luscious harmonies with finger-style guitar, creating a rich, contemplative atmosphere sure to move you to places of deeper feeling. She shares her love of music and movement via workshops for children and adults of all ages, travelling to schools, nonprofits, farms and various community gatherings across the Northeast and beyond.
