Jay Ungar & Molly Mason share timeless American music—graceful, soulful, and rooted in tradition—performed with warmth, mastery, and heart. Their story began with a chance meeting in the late 1970s at the Towne Crier, where two musicians—each traveling a very different path—recognized something rare in one another. What followed became one of the most enduring and celebrated partnerships in American acoustic music. To hear Jay Ungar & Molly Mason live is to experience American music as a living, breathing tradition—shared with grace, humility, and joy.

Rochmon Record Club blends music, stories & history to explore classic albums—hearing them together like it’s the first time. Join us for an evening of deep listening and musical storytelling with Rochmon Record Club, held every third Tuesday of the month at Caffè Lena. The Who’s 1973 album, “Quadrophenia”. The Who’s second full-length “Rock Opera” is set in London and follows a Mod, Jimmy, while he searches for self-worth in a world that shows him no respect. The Who, one of the loudest and most successful touring bands of the early 70’s, was hot off the success of 1969’s “Tommy” and 1971’s “Who’s Next”. The Who brings the Rock! The 17 songs on “Quadrophenia” include “The Real Me”, “I’m The One”, “5.15”, “Bell Boy” and, “Love, Reign o’er Me”. Doors open at 6:30, and the show begins at 7 pm with a live audio & video presentation by Chuck Vosganian aka “Rochmon”. As always, Rochmon will have some surprises in store! These listening parties are designed to inform, engage, and help us hear familiar music in brand-new ways. By listening together, we experience the album not just as fans, but as curious explorers—rediscovering the art and intention behind every note. Whether you're a lifelong collector or simply love great music, you'll leave with a deeper connection to the record—and maybe a few surprises along the way. Come curious. Leave inspired.
OPEN MIC NIGHT at Caffe Lena, recognized with 'Best Of' awards. Every Monday, all ages and styles. Sign up from 6:30 PM to 7:00 PM, show starts at 7:00 PM. Play your song on Caffe’s famous stage. Originals encouraged, but not required. Please leave a $3-$5 donation for the non-profit organization if you’re able to. Sign up is first come first serve. You are welcome to use our Yamaha studio upright acoustic piano or acoustic Martin guitar. We can play your MP3 backing track through our sound system. You are welcome to bring amps and drums BUT set up and break down is part of your 10 minutes. Play Nice! We foster a diverse community that has a great time making art and helping one another get better. Excessive profanity, explicit sexual themes, and 'humor' that unkindly targets a specific group undermines this goal. It is up to the discretion of the host to enforce the house standards.
Ambassador of the blues and one of the finest fingerpickers working today, Roy Book Binder has been a Caffè Lena favorite since 1968. Roy is not only a blues master but a born entertainer. He gave up his Greenwich Village “pad” in the early 1970’s and lived in his “Tour Bus” for the next 15 years, criss-crossing the US and appearing at festivals throughout Canada & Europe. With his 'Tour Bus' in town, every show becomes a one-man blues-fest, full of authentic licks, legendary stories, and music that transcends time. We are so excited to have Roy back on the Caffè Lena stage! He’s been playing here since 1968! Don’t miss an unforgettable evening with a true blues legend.
JUNO-nominated Abigail Lapell brings luminous, intimate folk to Caffè Lena—poetic songs shaped by haunting acoustics. Critics have called her work “understated yet seductive” (No Depression) and “the new generation’s heart-rending answer to Tapestry’s call” (Exclaim!). Whether performing at SXSW, Americanafest, or major folk festivals across North America and Europe, Lapell captivates audiences with a stage presence that is both powerful and disarmingly intimate. At Caffè Lena — where listening is an art — her music will have the space it deserves. Join us for an unforgettable evening of haunting melodies, emotional depth, beautifully crafted songwriting and the kind of performance that invites deep listening. This is folk music at its most transportive — and an artist you’ll be grateful to discover.
Join us for an evening of deep listening and musical storytelling with the Rochmon Record Club Listening Party! Led Zeppelin’s second album, appropriately named “Led Zeppelin II”. When he started Led Zeppelin, Jimmy Page wanted a band capable of creating music of light and shade. He got it. After the success of “Led Zeppelin I”, Plant, Page, Jones, and Bonham hit the road touring Europe once and America 3 times in 1969, recording when they could and releasing their second album a scant 10 months after their first. “Led Zeppelin II” is filled with classic Led Zep songs, including “Whole Lotta Love”, “Heartbreaker”, “Living Loving Maid”, “Ramble On”, “What Is and What Should Never Be”, “Bring It On Home”, and 3 more
